Could the popular Stanley Cups contain lead? These cups have been viral for a while but now there is the concern that they may contain lead. According to CNN, lead is found inside the material used to seal the Stanley’s insulation. But the lead is then covered with stainless steel.
According to the brand Stanley, “The sealing material includes some lead. Once sealed, this area is covered with a durable stainless steel layer, making it inaccessible to consumers.”
Based on the Stanley brand’s website, if the base cap comes off it reveals lead, and you shouldn’t continue to drink from it. If this occurs then the lifetime warranty will replace your Stanley.
Stanley stated, “Rest assured that no lead is present on the surface of any Stanley product that comes into contact with the consumer nor the contents of the product.”
