Only two weeks after their first meeting, the Philanthropy Committee on the SCA organized a food drive for underprivileged families in our area. It was largely successful and gave abundantly to families in need from November 16th to November 21st, thanks to our partner, Share of McLean.
Our students, families, and teachers all donated generously and we were able to collect plenty of life-saving food for our community. Charitable activities and donations are vessels of humanity, and they warm the hearts of both those who are struggling and those willing to help alike.
The holidays are a time for happiness but who can let go of their stress if the source of their next meal is uncertain? Thanks go out to all of our charitable individuals who gave those less fortunate some peace. Let’s look forward to the future projects of the Student Council, including the upcoming project for the old folks home next to the school on Valentine’s Day.
